![]() ![]() ![]() Outside of these parts its comparatively safe and predictable which kind of describes TEW2 as a whole. The best parts of TEW2 are the ones that are deliberately calling back to the style and energy of the first game, the hauntings and elements that Sebastian brings back into STEM rather than anything added by the new cast. Even the safe house area felt like it wasn't really safe, at best a dark corner where Ruvik hadn't looked yet than an actual refuge. Nothing was normal, nothing could be trusted, nothing was on your side you really felt like you were in enemy territory 24/7 which makes sense as it all ties back to the single unifying theme of Ruvik. I just missed how dirty and dingy and mean TEW1 felt, it was a full court press of horror and danger and while it could get exhausting in how it never really let up it gave the game a very unique sense of identity. None of the villains come close to Ruvik and his "brainpunk" style, Stefano is the only visually interesting one and he's entirely style over substance (not to mention only just part of the game). The Evil Within 2 is a huge improvement in terms of gameplay and maybe overall plot but it feels like a big step back in terms of atmosphere and aesthetics. I've been saying this for a while, its nice to hear it out in the wild. /r/GamePhysics - Clips of game physics shining and glitchingĭesign based on /r/FlatBlue created by /u/creesch. ![]() /r/gaming4gamers - middle ground between purely-for-fun and more serious subreddits./r/GamingLeaksAndRumours - Leaks and Rumors.Posting unmarked spoilers will result in removal and warning, and posting spoilers with malicious intent will result in a ban.
